Lake Stovall is a talent originally hailing from Virginia via San Fransisco and now residing in Seattle. His fresh material is a treat that should be on everyone’s playlists this November.
We are delighted to premiere Lake’s latest release of track, ‘She’ which serves up a soulful set of stunning falsetto vocals, R&B, funk infused beats and electronic elements. His voice is so gorgeous, the type you could listen to a cappella, it is tuneful enough in its own right and of course amplified and complimented with his epic music production. It’s the kind of music that could play cupid with you and whoever has the pleasure to accompany you to his gigs!
Interestingly, Lake was originally a dancer who moved to San Fransisco to study sound design and production. This perhaps explains how he has so beautifully translated his physical rhythmic skills into music for others and now finally makes music quite rightly for himself.
He definitely has the music in him in every sense. Impressively, his previous collaborations include electronic legends Ryan Hemsworth and R&B soul connoisseur B. Lewis (with who he formed duo project TESSA.)
Lake mentions that. ‘I was exploring my sound for “She” and honing in on the new skill sets I’ve learned over the years when working with various artists. The song encapsulates how you must give time in relationships, but I try to convey how important your individual time is, as well. The lyrics “She wants time, I’ve got none. She wants something more from you,” is open-ended to my listeners whether to give time and determine what that entails. “I’ve got something more,” begins to create new meanings in the possibilities that are greater than time in order to balance the relationship.’
Music connectivity is one of Lake’s superpowers and something that he continuously explores. He does in fact strive to write and produce music that can reach people. He aims to connect with others through music and influence anyone who is inspired by the language of musical artistry. Well he certainly has done that and we are ‘not so’ patiently waiting for his next release.
