It was only a few posts back that we featured ‘For Those I Love’ as our artist of the week. His ‘I Have A Love’ song tugged at the heartstrings in what was one of the most beautiful tributes (to a friend) we’ve ever come across.
Yesterday (David Balfe) ‘For Those I Love’ released another artistic masterpiece and something that is so brutally honest and necessary for the world to hear.
Now is the perfect time for David Balfe to get into the ears and eyes of those who are rooting for change in society, which is no doubt most of the global population.
His latest track ‘Top Scheme’ is shared alongside a powerful visual essay. Balfe has most certainly got an equally strong talent for creative direction as he does for his sound. His videos can be likened to the cinematography that you might see from a Shane Meadows production, perhaps we can encourage a ‘This is Ireland’ version.
Lyrically, he voices his thoughts on the divide and unfairness of the government and the worlds disregard for the working class. It is something that is prevalent across the nation right now which is what will make this so relatable. It’s a necessary awakening for the music industry to shape culture in society and Balfe manages to do that, plus you can tell it comes right from the heart.
He explained that, “I wrote Top Scheme to directly spit in the face of the state, the banks, and those that continue to socially cripple the less fortunate without ever looking at the world we have been forced to live and grow within. It sits within a wider group of songs that look at the social alienation of the working class and how that continues to haunt us as we grow older.”
Eagerly awaiting more from ‘For Those I Love.’
