Tonight marks the 40th anniversary of the legendary BRIT awards. With so many moments to remember, we have curated our top 3 which include: Best performance, best award presenters and best thank you speech. Plus a few notable outfits…
BEST AWARD PRESENTER: Here’s Honour Fraser and the late designer Alexander McQueen presenting the BRIT award for best international female in 1998 (Spoiler Bjork won)!
Our favourite BRITS acceptance speech was from David Bowie in 2014 via a medium of Kate Moss. Music and fashion worlds fused on stage as the model accepted the award on David’s behalf, in the original Ziggy Stardust outfit. Channelling Bowie must’ve been an honour and that outfit was originally worn at London’s rainbow theatre in 1972 – woahhh.
And finally, the our best performance from the BRITS is non other than the 1997 Spice Girls -,singing their hearts out to, ‘Wannabe’ and ‘Who do you think you are.’ The girls revolutionised 90’s fashion, styles are still emulated to this day.
