Fashion week merged with Broadway in New York over the weekend, all thanks to designer Susan Alexandra and it was a Bat Mitzvah to behold. Picture the scene, colourful style, flamboyant tracks and razzle-dazzle.
The Susan Alexandra Fall 2020 musical was the first of its kind at fashion week.
She has in fact made fashion soundtrack history!
You’ll recognise her beaded handbags and jewellery that had the cool cult effect on Instagram over the summer.
Susan Korn (known as brand Susan Alexandra) quite rightfully decided to tap into the senses of the fashion crowd, this time through sound. She explained her inspiration for the show, “I was like, ‘What can really touch people and leave them with something that they feel?’ and then I was like, ‘Music!’ And music means Broadway; that’s what New York is to me.”
Casting was done in a modern way with all the talent sourced via Instagram. We’re hoping for a Spotify playlist as the show featured epic original music and lyrics by Mur. The choreography was by Hannah Cullen.
This one will be hard to beat, and has no doubt set the bar for immersive catwalk shows. We’re excited to see the full film and more rainbow inspo from the fashion goddess that is SA. Also obsessed with her emoji choices!
