Who are Stella and Steve might you ask. Well 19 year old Benee has just recorded an EP all about them and you need to hear it.
This emotional EP will need to be put right repeat for the next week. It is Benee’s most exciting work yet and she is getting recognition from various tastemaker sites on the blogosphere (including ours!) in 2019.
Earlier this week, BENEE took home four wins at the 2019 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards, including “Best Solo Artist,” “Breakthrough Artist of the Year,” “Best Pop Artist,” and “Single Of The Year” for her breakout hit “Soaked.” She also joined ROLE MODEL on his latest track “notice me.”
And if you wondered what Benee means it is, according to Google – Vi·sion·ar·y – is a (noun) person with original ideas who plans the future with imagination or wisdom.
You could say this is what Benee is doing at the young age of 19, carving out a space between indie pop and R&B, she deconstructs modern “pop music” to create a sonic landscape all her own.
