The beguiling barefooted performer strikes again and this time Florence Welch has a track ‘Moderation’ and ‘Haunted House,’ to share. These somewhat surprise tunes were apparently, written around the same time F&M were compiling the ‘High as Hope’ album. Yet they didn’t seem to make it onto the 4th studio album, but apparently it was the difference in theme and sound.
Moderation, is a slightly heavier, rocky drum based number that is rather catchy and would suit Florence’s live performances and provide much upbeat entertainment for a crowd.
She told Zane Lowe on BBC Radio one,
“It’s about reaching outwards and being cross that someone can’t give you what you want, but the chorus came from a childhood memory of being told off in church.”
Florence and the Machine are currently touring Australia and then will continue onto Europe. Look out for them at Barclaycard BST in Hyde Park, alongside the National on July 13th 2019. They are a live performance that mesmerises the eyes and satisfies the ears.
