TOPMAN TV have launched their most ambitious venture yet with the first ever OPEN SHOOT music film project. OPEN SHOOT will form a mass contribution video concept, connecting TOPMAN and specially selected artists with their fans and creative communities across the UK. From set designers and stylists to would-be film producers, entrants will be able to see their ideas come to life on screen and create a totally unique and eye-popping music video using crowd-sourced creative ideas.
To launch this on-going project TOPMAN TV will be collaborating with British artist Ghostpoet, aka Obaro Ejimiwe, whose hotly anticipated single ‘X Marks the Spot’ will go through the first OPENSHOOT treatment.
From the 6th February – 22nd February, TOPMAN TV and Ghostpoet will be calling all their followers to get involved and showcase their visual ideas through images, film, illustrations, patterns or whatever inspires them most. Watch Ghostpoet introducing the project here: www.topman.com/openshoot
Fans can simply upload their image and film entries at Topman.com/openshoot and using the #OPENSHOOT tag via Instagram and Twitter, which then becomes a part of an online collective gallery of inspiring content to ignite the whole project.
The final music video will be premiered on the 13th March exclusively on TOPMAN TV, where fans can also view behind the scenes clips, catching a glimpse of how their contributions have featured. The project will represent an amalgamation of the ideas and concepts put forward, produced in partnership with Guest Director Lee Hempstock.
Ghostpoet said how it’s, “Great to be given another avenue to explore my creativity, rather excited by the prospect, cheers Topman”.
This exciting film will be the start of many collaborative music videos TOPMAN TV will roll out this year, engaging and involving fans in the creative process behind their favourite artist’s music videos. TOPMAN will not only showcase the talent and vision of each selected artist but also the imagination and originality of their followers, inviting fans to add colour to their canvas.
The track is taken from Ghostpoet’s forthcoming album ‘Shedding Skin’ which is released on 2nd March 2015 through Play It Again Sam.
Ghostpoet will be appearing at Gatehead’s Sage on 21st February for the 6Music Festival and will embark on a UK headline tour in April. Regrettably, he will no longer hit the road with TV On The Radio in February, due to the tour being cancelled.
