Ever since she first enchanted the British public on The X Factor, we have all waited for Ella Henderson’s debut album – and she doesn’t disappoint. Her audition piece is even included on the track titled ‘Missed’, among other tracks such as the powerful ‘Beautifully Unfinished’ and a sure no.1 in ‘Glow’.
Chapter One perfectly illustrates Ella’s unique voice that has a blend of old soul with a modern edge, often compared with similar rising star Sam Smith. Sounding as graceful as ever, Ella’s effortless slides and innovative lyrics have made this album already popular with wide anticipation for its release. “My writing’s very personal, like an open diary, so the songs had to be raw and honest and have a live band feel.” With the choice between the album of thirteen tracks and the Deluxe edition, sales are sure to rocket. The album is co-written with an incredible line-up including Ryan Tedder, Claude Kelly, Babyface, Eg White, Salaam Remi, and Richard ‘Biff’ Stannard under her label Syco.
It’s safe to say that Ella shot to fame this summer with her debut single ‘Ghost’ which has dominated the radio stations, becoming one of the biggest selling singles this year with eight consecutive weeks spent in the top five. It has been one of the most played songs on UK radio and has firmly placed Ella among the artists to watch this year.
Having conquered the UK, Ella plans to go worldwide after her debut in the US, showcasing in New York and Los Angeles. Crowds there were amazed with her breath-taking vocals, proving that Ella, although having only just started her musical career, is here to stay.
