Only Girl’s new single, Feel It, is the combination of hard-hitting emotive lyrics driven home by impeccable vocals, topped off with an uplifting backdrop of soulful pop production. This new gem, co- written by produced by long term collaborator Henry Binns (Zero 7,) is out now via Akira Records.
We wonder who could’ve inspired Only Girl to write such emotive lyrics. “I wrote this song about watching someone I love go through so much pain, I wanted to feel what they were feeling” explains Only Girl, continuing “I wanted to ease the burden somehow, for all the times they had been there for me”
Only Girl is the pseudonym of South East Londoner Ellen Murphy; creating her own brand of understated pop, soaring with R&B infused melodies. Following much tastemaker blog coverage through-out over the last 12 months, she was also chosen to play at Glastonbury Festival this year via the Emerging Talent competition.
