Iconic fashion brand Original Penguin continues its mission to celebrate the very best in musical trailblazers with its much-lauded Plugged In campaign, which gives musical visionaries a platform to showcase exactly why they are considered to be original and pioneering.
The first Original Penguin Plugged In show of 2014 was an overwhelming success with house duo Gorgon City, drum & bass don Wilkinson and hotly tipped duo We The Wild performing for just 100 music lovers at London’s exclusive Hospital Club.
Original Penguin announces the line-up for their June and July Plugged In shows with some incredible artists confirmed to play up close and personal shows.
Nick Mulvey featured in the BBC’s Sound Of 2014 poll and in debut album ‘First Mind’ he has undoubtedly released one of the great albums of the year. His captivating songs, virtuosity, intelligence and lightly experimental agenda have marked him out as a leading modern day troubadour and just three singles into his solo career Nick’s music is making impressive, encouraging footprints across the globe.
London based alt-pop duo and Sub Pop Records signees Thumpers released their debut album ‘Galore’ earlier this year to huge critical acclaim. Filled with extroverted melodies, pounding floor toms and stunning production it is an early entry for alternative album of the year. Their infectious brand of electronic pop has seen them championed by the likes of Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and XFM and sharing stages with the likes of CHVRCHES, Two Door Cinema Club and MS MR.
Twin Atlantic are a band on the verge of greatness. Following in the slipstream of fellow countrymen Biffy Clyro, this is a band with a huge, anthemic, stadium rock sound. These Scotsmen’s third studio album ‘Great Divide’ will be released in August and this is a very rare chance to see the band in a tiny venue before they take to the main stage at all this summer’s key festivals.
