Following another sell-out UK tour (including London’s Scala), his initial steps on US soil at SXSW, and a top 30 charting for his insatiably infectious Cucurucu single, Nick Mulvey precedes the release of his debut album with new live favourite, Meet Me There.
2014 has already been a very encouraging time for Nick, putting his name stage-centre with a dazzling spotlight overhead. If it’s not the UK singles chart he’s busy climbing, it’s top 5 in the Shazam and Spotify viral charts, the radio playlists, and all the other timely, modern day indicators that Nick is very much onto a ‘good thing’.
Since parting ways with his former band Portico Quartet to focus on this solo venture, the journey couldn’t have been kinder in such a short space of time, as 2013 closed with Nick nestled comfortably on the BBC Sound of 2014 Poll longlist.
Meet Me There is as ‘instant’ as Nick Mulvey gets, that is to say it’s a beautifully warm and lilting alt-pop song that swoops and soars, all drama and sentiment. It’s another telling indication of what his debut album First Mind showcases, and the final stepping stone to that full length release following the singles ‘Fever To The Form’, ‘Nitrous’, and ‘Cucurucu’.
As one wholly successful sell-out tour of the UK concludes, more live dates have been added, both at home and Europe, to ever expansive rooms preceding another busy summer of live activity for one of Britain’s most engaging, endearing and ultimately enticing young singer-songwriters.
