Tips For Enjoying An Autumn Festival

The autumn is always a wonderful season for festival activity throughout the UK, and that means it’s time to gear up for some of the year’s most enjoyable events. However, enjoying a popular festival isn’t just about picking an event, grabbing your mates and booking tickets – you’ll also need to be prepared to enjoy the event itself. For many of us, this preparation begins and ends with fashion, as popular festivals offer wonderful opportunities to show off the latest seasonal looks and trends. But in the following points, we’ll also outline some other basic tips for enjoying the autumn festival season.

Wear A Bold New Look

Just to cover fashion a bit more thoroughly, it’s always a fun idea to try some of the bold new trends of the season at a festival. We recently wrote a bit about VOGUE‘s upcoming event, “fashion night out,” and this magazine is a great place to start for seasonal trends as well. Their online guide to autumn fashion for the year features some intriguing looks, from a Marc Jacobs collection teeming with variety, to some surprisingly light and playful autumn themes particularly appropriate for outdoor festivals. Look through the guide and you’ll almost certainly find some appealing options!

Pack A Day Bag

Even if you’re only attending a festival for a couple of hours, there’s nothing more frustrating than getting there and wishing you’d packed a certain item – a camera, a sweater, change of clothes, etc. A day bag may seem like an inconvenience (and indeed, depending on the venue it may not even be allowed), but this is a “better safe than sorry” issue. Worth noting is that backpacks seem to be particularly trendy in men’s accessories – so if you’re sticking with fashion, you could probably get away with packing everything into a backpack on your man’s shoulders.

Prepare To See Long Distance

Another thing that can quickly ruin a festival is getting there and realizing you can’t see the stage well enough. And for anyone without prime seats right up front, this is a fairly common issue! The fact is, many of us suffer from myopia (near sightedness), even if it’s only a mild case – but in a festival environment, that issue can be amplified annoyingly. Take a look at ACUVUE‘s discussion on myopia – not just on recognizing and diagnosing it, but specifically on finding the right contact lenses to address the issue. With enough preparation, you could be heading into your next festival with a whole new perspective, and contact lenses that allow you to see everything perfectly. Though we’d still recommend packing some binoculars, just because getting an up-close look is fun either way!

Any number of additional personal preparations may factor in as well. However, addressing the basics – what to wear, what to bring, and making sure you’re equipped to properly enjoy the festival – can go a long way to improving your next experience. Now get out there and have fun!
