September has been a quiet month for new music, nothing had caught our ears UNTIL we came across KHUSHI. This is the kind of pure voice that gives you a chill sensation. This guy has the ‘shazam that song now effect!’
A born and bred Londoner who spends his days caring for the blind, Khushi’s – the unusual name derives from a childhood nickname – music is a combination of self-produced home recordings and studio recorded material.
Debut single ‘Magpie’ is a blissful slice of tender pop that marries haunting melodies with lyrics that posses a honesty impossible to ignore, ‘The silence will take care of itself, but I want you and not somebody else. Caught up in things we wouldn’t change, but this arrow’s flying on its way’.
Having quietly uploaded his demos to Soundcloud a few months ago, KHUSHI has supported the likes of Laura Mvula, Foxes and Dan Croll plus festival appearances at this year’s Wilderness and The Great Escape. We can’t wait for an album!
