The music scene up north is sensational. We can’t tell you the amount of fun we had at Liverpool Sound City. So we’re going back for X&Y because it looks awesome and we know it will be full of new musical discoveries.
Liverpool music festival X&Y announced top Nottingham band, DOG IS DEAD, FRIENDS(usa), THE CROOKES, THE HEARTBREAKS as well as the best new emerging talent from across the UK !!
DOG IS DEAD are confirmed as one of X&Y’s headline performers at this year’s inaugural festival. They come to the festival after a fantastic year releasing their debut album ‘ALL OUR FAVOURITE STORIES’. They are currently on tour with TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB in Europe and are set to return to the UK to do their own headline UK tour. These guys are going to be huge, we can’t wait to see hit songs such as;
‘TALK THROUGH THE NIGHT’ ‘GLOCKENSPIEL SONG’ and ‘TWO DEVILS’
FRIENDS (usa) also join the festival bill. Brookyln, NYC is one hip place, but the slinky dudes from FRIENDS are hipper than most. A quintet who coalesced when hanging together at vegan restaurant in the heart of hipsterville, their particular brand of “weird pop” exudes sassy charm. Fronted by the Tiggerish Samantha Urbani, Friends won plenty of hearts when they invaded The Kazimier in June last
year, so we’re expecting more of the same this time round. ‘Bido Lito’
THE CROOKES also feature, as do THE HEARTBREAKS, fresh from supporting the likes of The Courteeners & Richard Hawley.
BROTHER & BONES join the festival bill following a successful sold out show at the Shipping Forecast last year.
DISCOPOLIS are a electronic 5 peace from Edinburgh. Currently making their way across radio stations with brilliant remixes and set to be one of the highlights on the Academy 2 stage.
X&Y takes place at 02 Academy 1&2 and St Lukes (bombed out church). Liverpool on 6/7 July 2013.
