LIVERPOOL SOUND CITY FESTIVAL – MAY 2013

Liverpool-Sound-City

Last year we jumped for joy after Liverpool Sound Cities first shot at a festival. It was about time the northern music haven flaunted their cultural taste buds. There are even better venues this year, Liverpool will be showcasing over 300 artists. This is by the far the best way to explore Liverpool city centre, home to many great musicians. The city have given the population talent from; The Beatles, Cast, The Coral, The Lightning Seeds, The Zutons, The Wombats and Frankie Goes To Hollywood.

We have been following Sound City on Twitter since last year and the account runner is hilarious.

Our favourite venues have to be The Shipping Forecast, Leaf (Bold St), The Kazimier, Liverpool Cathedral also pop over for a drink and enjoy art exhibitions at awesome hipster venue, Camp and Furnace.

Absolute bargain of a festival full of art, fashion and film. There is plenty to do around Bold St, visit the bombed out Church and FACT who showcase film screenings and photography. Watch out for the John Peel World Cup, a 5 a side football tournament.
Sound City also boast an internationally renowned conference like no other. Liverpool is twinned with New York who also hold a “Sound City” festival. Both cities have similar cultural taste buds, bringing together the great and the good of the music, creative and digital industries.
