ARTIST OF THE WEEK – TOM ODELL 

We recently introduced Tom Odell’s song, “Another Love” after it was soundtracked on the catwalk of Burberry’s London fashion Week Show. Tom’s emotional stories are sung alongside a descending piano baseline that can be compared to the likes of Jeff Buckley, Elliot Smith and Nick Drake. Odell appears at the same time as artists Jake Bugg, Alex Clare and James Blake. All four can be grouped in the same enigmatic category. This is why it comes as no surprise that Odell is supporting Bugg on his UK tour this November. Tom has moved to London from Brighton after signing a record deal with Columbia. His career was given a kickstart by Christopher Bailey (Burberry Creative Director) whose impeccable music taste has improved the future of a number of British talents. If you haven’t heard it already then we have placed track “Another Love” below , his tracks “Sense” and “Can’t Pretend” are also ones to write home about. Listen out for Tom O’dell in 2013.

Christopher Bailey was brave to choose an introspective melody to soundtrack the Burberry catwalk. This is so much more poignant than the usual catchy upbeat tracks we are used to hearing.
