MILAN FASHION WEEK SOUNDTRACK – SS13

Once again we have compiled a tracklist of the best tunes heard at Milan fashion week. Look at the new styles and music from the Spring/Summer 2013 collections….

Missoni

Yello – I love you ( The 1983 track could possibly have historical meaning in the Missoni household. It was released the same year that their daughter Margherita was born. Enjoy the electronic melody and manipulated singing) We can’t decide which family should adopt us first.. D&G or Missoni ?!

Versace

The Kills – “Dreams” (A Fleetewood Mac cover by rock and roll icons Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince (Kate Moss’s husband) The song was orignally written by Stevie Nicks for the 1977 album “Rumours.” This track was selected from the new Fleetwood Mac tribute album “Just Tell Me You Want Me” which also features excellent covers from MGMT, Best Coast, Lykke Li and Antony Hegarty.

Bottega Veneta

Four Tet – “Locked” (Musician Kieran Hebden goes under the stage name Four Tet and mixes electronic music. Our favourite Four Tet track is “Nova” which we have included below)

Iceberg

Ornette – Crazy (The (Nôze remix is also worth  listen)

Etro

Florence And The Machine – Spectrum Calvin Harris Remix (This track has had so much radio airtime this summer) The music complimented the oriental influences that Etro presented for SS13.

Just Cavalli

The Cure –  Lullaby (Hauntingly good track, our top Cure tune has to be “Just Like Heaven” which we added in below)

MOSCHINO

Michael Mayer – Good Times ( This German DJ loves a soundtrack and upbeat falsetto)

NO.21

Chris Issak – Wicked Game (Funnily enough this was one of our suggestions on our “Songs That Should Be On Catwalks” page. That one hit wonder is timeless). Try and listen to the Trentemoller Remix if you get the chance.

Versus

The Gossip – Heavy Cross ( Lead singer Beth Ditto is an inspirational character, her music is used regularly at fashion weeks. This music is a dance tune with punk influences.
